Scott Fitzgerald story "Bernice Bobs Her Hair" — at the New York Musical Theatre Festival.

Featuring book, music and lyrics by Joe Major, Bernice Bobs Her Mullet "tells the story of a young redneck who leaves her Podunk hometown to experience life in the big city... of Little Rock, Arkansas. Soon, Bernice gets swept up in the glamour and politics of popularity and learns the hard way that you shouldn't let it go to your head," according to press notes.

Long (The Spitfire Grill) stars in the title role alongside Nick Cearley (Times They Are a-Changin'), Katrina Rose Dideriksen (Hairspray), Hollie Howard (Hairspray), Brandon Wardell (Good Vibrations), Lauren Worsham, as well as the aforementioned McIntyre (Once On This Island) and Morrison (Merrily We Roll Along, LoveMusik).

Andy Sandberg, who most recently worked on Broadway assisting Hal Prince on LoveMusik, helms the production for NYMF. Steven Ullman produces the make-over musical for NYMF.
