The third Muny Magic at The Sheldon, the bi-annual showcase of favorite Muny artists, is presented November 16-17 at 7:30 PM at The Sheldon Concert Hall.
The evening features four leading ladies from recent Muny seasons in a tribute to some of the legendary talents who have appeared on The Muny stage throughout its 98-year history. The concerts spotlight Muny legends Ethel Merman, Shirley Jones, and Bernadette Peters, among others.
The quartet of singing artists includes Danielle Bowen (Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, 2016); Ali Ewoldt (Maria in West Side Story, 2013; Christine in the Broadway production of Phantom of the Opera); Stephanie Gibson (Inga in Young Frankenstein, 2016); and Elena Shaddow (Marian in The Music Man, 2016; Cinderella in Into The Woods, 2015). Brad Haak is the musical director.
At the November 16 performance, Muny artistic director and executive producer Mike Isaacson will announce the line-up for The Muny’s 2017 summer season. “We’ve had such a great time with our first two Muny Magic evenings,” said Isaacson in an earlier statement. “How thrilling to welcome these four wonderful talents back and to have them pay tribute to some of the great artists who were on our stage before them.”
The concert is produced by Muny casting director and producing associate Megan Larche Dominick.
The Sheldon Concert Hall is located at 3648 Washington Blvd. in St. Louis, MO. Tickets range from $25-$50. For more information, visit www.muny.org/munymagic or call The Muny at (314) 361-1900.
