Classic Arts News Music Center at Strathmore Announces 2005-06 Season The Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda, Maryland, has announced its schedule for 2005-06, its first full season.
The $100 million hall, which opened in February, presents touring classical, jazz, dance, folk, and world music artists, as well as hosting the Baltimore Symphony, National Philharmonic, and Washington Performing Arts Society.

Visiting classical ensembles in 2005-06 include the Washington Bach Consort; the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, featuring guitarist Sharon Isbin; the Jerusalem Symphony, conducted by Leon Botstein; and the China National Symphony Orchestra. Pianist Yundi Li will give a solo recital.

Jazz artists include Joshua Redman's SF JAZZ Collective, Manhattan Transfer, and vocalist Kurt Elling; dance groups include Julio Bocca and Ballet Argentino performing Boccatango, and the North Carolina Dance Theatre.
