A concert version of Nine will be performed Monday, Aug. 16 at 7.30 PM by Pasadena's Musical Theatre Guild as the opening attraction of its fourth season. With book by Arthur Kopit, music and lyrics by Maury Yeston, the adaptation of the Fellini film "8 1/2" will be staged one time only.The other shows on the 1999-2000 "Broadway in Concert" series include: Louisiana Purchase, music & lyrics by Irving Berlin, book by Morris Ryskind, based on a story by B.G. DeSylva (Oct. 18); Take Me Along, music and lyrics by Bob Merrill, book by Joseph Stein & Robert Russell, based on the play Ah, Wilderness by Eugene O'Neill (Feb. 14); The Baker's Wife, book by Joseph Stein, music & lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (April 10); and The Rink, book by Terrence McNally, music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb (June 12).
