News Myths and Hymns, with Buliung, Scott and Street, to Play Toronto Casting has been announced for the Canadian production of the Adam Guettel song cycle Myths and Hymns, which will be presented by Talk Is Free Theatre.

Adam Brazier (We Will Rock You) will direct the production, which features Canadian stage veterans Evan Buliung, Eddie Glen, Jeigh Madjus, Eliza Jane Scott and Carly Street. The musical director and accompanist for Myths and Hymns will be Anthony Bastianon.

Myths and Hymns will be presented for two performances on March 25 and 26 at the Gryphon Theatre in Barrie, ON. A performance at the Bathurst Street Theatre in Toronto has been added for March 23.

Guettel's art song and pop-infused piece mines Greek mythology and New England Puritanism for its exploration of faith and yearning.

Originally titled Saturn Returns, Myths and Hymns was performed in March 1998 at the Public Theater under the direction of Tina Landau. Songs in the work include "Prometheus," "Saturn Returns," "Migratory V," "Pegasus," "Build A Bridge," "Sisyphus," "Hero and Leander," "Come to Jesus," "How Can I Lose You," "There's A Land" and "Awaiting You." A recording of the work is currently available.

A Tony Award winner for his The Light in the Piazza score, Guettel also penned the acclaimed musical Floyd Collins and Love's Fire. For tickets and further information visit TIFT or phone (705) 792-1949.
