Lavin, who currently stars in Off-Broadway's The Lyons, will be joined onstage at Birdland by Nancy Dussault (Into the Woods), as well as Lyons co-stars Kate Jennings Grant (Guys and Dolls), Michael Esper (American Idiot) and Brenda Pressley (Dreamgirls).
Pianist Billy Stritch will be the evening's musical director with Steve Bakunas on drums and Steve Doyle on bass.
The concert will celebrate the launch of Lavin's first solo CD, "Possibilities," distributed on Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight Records. The recording was released digitally Nov. 1 and will hit stores Nov. 29. Produced by John Brown, the CD features musical direction, arrangements and piano accompaniment by Stritch.
Lavin won the Tony Award in 1987 for her performance in Broadway Bound and has been nominated for her performances in Last of the Red Hot Lovers, The Diary of Anne Frank, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife and Collected Stories. Lavin has also received an Emmy Award, Golden Globe awards, Drama Desk Awards, a Lucille Lortel Award and is know for her multiple film and television roles, including the title character in the sitcom "Alice."
