Classic Arts News Nashville Opera Announces 2005-06 Season Nashville Opera will perform a new opera by Marcus Hummon, a Nashville-based songwriter, in 2005-06, the Tennessean reports.
The season, the company's 25th, will also include Gounod's Faust, Gilbert and Sullivan's Iolanthe, and Puccini's Turandot.

Hummon has written songs for the Dixie Chicks, Wynonna, Tim McGraw, Alabama, and other pop and country artists, as well as recording under his own name. The company hopes to attract new audiences with his Surrender Road, which is set in Brooklyn.
