Entitled "Awkward 10 Minutes with Mike," the talkbacks will be presented following Wednesday evening performances. Tony winner Nathan Lane, who co-produces Sleepwalk, will guest Dec. 3; "This American Life" host Ira Glass is scheduled for Dec. 10. Additional guests will be announced shortly. In "Awkward 10 Minutes With Mike," press notes state, "Mike Birbiglia interviews a new guest each week about a personal story that they're uncomfortable about discussing in public." In a statement Birbiglia said, "It's a fun add-on to the show because thematically, Sleepwalk With Me is about telling people the things we're not supposed to talk about. It opens the whole thing up so it's not just about my stories but about everyone's stories. The only danger, of course, is that people will leave and say, 'My favorite part was when he talked to other people at the end!'"
The production now offers rush tickets to students and "broke people in their 20s." Individuals will have to show student ID or "if not in college, explain why you're broke," according to a statement. A limited number of tickets will go on sale one hour before show time for $25.
In Sleepwalk With Me, press notes state, Birbiglia "takes the audience on a hysterically funny and intensely personal journey through stories of his life and bouts with sleepwalking. As he finally confronts his fears of love, honesty and growing up, we see that some people's problems will work themselves out with a nice long walk — but not Mike's."
Show times are Wednesday-Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 8 and 10 PM and Sunday at 3 and 7 PM.
The Bleecker Street Theatre is located at 45 Bleecker Street. Tickets, beginning at $51.50, are available by calling (212) 239-6200 or by visiting www.telecharge.com.
