News Neil Patrick Harris Named to Advisory Board of Goldstar Live entertainment business leader Goldstar announced April 21 the first three members of its advisory board: former CEO of Ticketmaster Sean Moriarty; actor, producer and director Neil Patrick Harris; and Internet entrepreneur Matt Coffin.

As a group, the advisory board will contribute expertise to Goldstar in entrepreneurship, live entertainment, technology, social media, marketing and the management of high growth.

The advisors, according to a press statement, "will play a crucial role in providing insight and support to management. Goldstar plans to open in several more U.S. territories this year, covering nearly all major U.S. markets by year’s end."

“It’s an exciting and fun time to be here, but what’s ahead is a big job,” said Goldstar CEO Jim McCarthy in a statement. “Having people as smart and accomplished as Matt, Neil and Sean on board and engaged in helping make Goldstar a success gives me even more confidence that we’re on the right track.”

Emmy winner Neil Patrick Harris, who made his New York Philharmonic debut as Tobias Ragg in May 2000 in the Orchestra’s production of Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd, currently appears as Barney Stinson in the hit television series, "How I Met Your Mother." He has starred in three Broadway productions, including the dual roles of The Balladeer/Lee Harvey Oswald in the Tony Award-winning musical Assassins; in the Pulitzer Prize-winning production of Proof, opposite Anne Heche; and as the emcee in Cabaret at Studio 54.  He recently won his first two Emmy Awards for his guest-starring role on "Glee," in addition to serving as host of the 2009 Tony Awards. He also served as host of the 2009 Emmy Awards. His role on "How I Met Your Mother" has garnered him four consecutive Emmy Award nominations and two consecutive Golden Globe nominations. He was most recently seen in the New York Philharmonic production of Company.
