News New Behind-the-Scenes Series "The Sound of Musicals" to Be Broadcast by U.K.'s Channel 4 "The Sound of Musicals," a new three-part television series that goes behind-the-scenes and backstage at a series of West End musicals, is to begin transmission on the U.K.'s Channel 4 Nov. 12.

The first episode, being transmitted Nov. 12, focuses on bringing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to the West End stage, following it from rehearsals to first night, alongside director Sam Mendes and other members of the creative team.

In the second episode, Cameron Mackintosh and first-time producer Amy Anzel are featured, steering their new productions of Barnum and Happy Days to the stage, respectively. It also features the West End debut of 21-year-old actor Dickie Wood as he joins the company of Mamma Mia!

In the third episode, producers Kenny Wax and David Ian are followed as they produce and cast their productions of Top Hat and The Bodyguard for the West End.
