Producer Mitchell Maxwell will direct.

The City Club is written by Glenn M. Stewart with a score by James Compton. The upcoming production will feature choreography by Lorin Latarro.

The new musical, according to press notes for a previous reading, "centers around Charles Davenport, a passionate and naïve jazz club owner who tries to create the ultimate club in a dark city full of corruption and prejudice. With a blind passion for music, he headlines sizzling talent from 'the wrong side of the tracks,' for his wealthy and decadent patrons who are willing to pay anything for what they want — with tragic results."

No official announcement about the production has been made.

A January 2011 reading of the musical featured Andrew Pandaleon, Margaret Hoffman, Natalie Peyser, Tess Soltau, Kenny Brawner, Michael Pemberton, Felicia Ricci, Sally Swallow, Stephen Lee Anderson, Spencer Moses, Michael Lanning and Brian Munn.
