Featuring a score by Michael Friedman, the musical will officially open at the Barrow Street Theatre June 24 and play through Aug. 5. Steven Cosson directs a company of six — Emily Ackerman, Damian Baldet, Stephen Plunkett, Robbie Sublett, Colleen Werthmann and Jennifer Morris — who play more than 30 characters.
The musical, which is based on interviews company members conducted with New Yorkers, is described in this manner: "Gone Missing is crafted from company interviews with real-life New Yorkers about things gone missing: keys, IDs, a Gucci pump...or one's mind."
Gone Missing was initially performed shortly after Sept. 11, 2001. Since that time the show has grown and now features a score by Friedman, which incorporates salsa, ballads, operetta and tuneful pop.
The design team comprises Takeshi Kata (set design), Sarah Beers (costume design), Thomas Dunn (lighting design) and Ken Travis (sound design).
Gone Missing plays Tuesday-Friday at 7:30 PM, Saturday at 2:30 and 7:30 PM and Sunday at 5 PM. Tickets, priced $20-$45, are available by calling (212) 239-6200 or by visiting www.telecharge.com.
