Part of the New York International Fringe Festival, the production will play through Aug. 22 at the Off-Broadway venue. The musical features a book by Randy Blair and Timothy Michael Drucker with lyrics by Blair and a score by Zachary Redler.
Directed and choreographed by Connor Gallagher, the cast features Randy Blair (The Adding Machine), Timothy Michael Drucker (The Other Baldwins), Lindsay Nicole Chambers (Legally Blonde), Sevan Greene (Betrayed), Laura Jordan (Cry-Baby), Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Spelling Bee, Seussical), Ana Nogiuera (NYMF's The Boy in the Bathroom), Dana Steingold (Spelling Bee, upcoming Godspell) and Jason Veasy.
Perez Hilton, according to press notes, "explores a normal day in the life of celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton. Well, were it not for the plans of evil Islamic terrorists. And Kathy Griffin. Throughout the course of the day, Perez must wrestle with the demons of love, ego and celebrity, all whilst saving Los Angeles from an imminent nuclear disaster."
The creative team also includes David Withrow (costumes), Matt Steinbrenner (set and projection design), Brian Tovar (lighting design), Adam Wachter (musical direction), Will Van Dyke (arrangements), Brian Lowdermilk (additonal arrangements), Nate Festinger (orchestrations), Enrique Brown (assistant director/choreographer), Jenny Kanelos (company manager) and Jamie Rog (stage manager).
