News New Victory Season Includes New York Debut of Henry Krieger and Bill Russell's Lucky Duck The Henry Krieger-Bill Russell musical Lucky Duck will make a splash in New York City as part of the New Victory Theatre's 2011-2012 season, which will also include Australian director Neil Armfield's The Book of Everything.

Tony-nominated Dreamgirls composer Krieger and lyricist Russell, who also collaborated on the Tony-nominated musical Side Show, will see the New York debut of their children's musical Lucky Duck, which will run March 16-25, 2012. Jeffrey Hatcher (Tuesdays With Morrie, Never Gonna Dance) penned the book for the modern take on the Hans Christian Andersen classic.

Perhaps better known to adults for directing Geoffrey Rush in Exit the King and Diary of a Madman in New York, Armfield will stage the U.S. premiere of Guus Kuijer's The Book of Everything. The tale of a young boy with a vivid imagination, will run April 20-29, 2012.

Also planned is Lookingglass Theatre co-founder Laura Eason's adaptation of Mark Twain's classic, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, which will be presented March 2-11, 2012.

Additional works include Rick Cummins and John Scoullar's puppet theatre production of The Little Prince (Oct. 1-16); Andy Manley's Edinburgh Fringe Festival-winning work White (Oct. 13-Nov. 13); The Complete World of Sports (abridged) from the Reduced Shakespeare Company (Oct. 21-Nov. 6); the Australian tap and acrobatics mash-up Untapped! (Nov. 11-27); Cirque Shanghai's aerial treat Bai Xi (Dec. 2-Jan. 1, 2012); Stella Den Haag's Rumplestiltskin (Jan. 6-8, 2012); Het Filiaal's Miss Ophelia, an adaptation of "Ophelia’s Shadow Theatre" by Michael Ende (Jan. 13-15, 2012); solo performer Lejo's Hands Up! (Jan. 21-22, 2012); Theater Artemis' stage adaptation of the Emily Bronte classic Wuthering Heights (Jan. 27-29, 2012); the street dance celebration Brazil! Brazil! (Feb. 10-26, 2012); Ahhh HA! from the physical theatre troupe Do Jump! (March 30-April 14, 2012); Plop!, based on Ursula Dubosarksy's children’s book "The Terrible Plop" (April 26-May 13, 2012); and the Argentine dance piece 8cho (May 4-20, 2012).
