News Nick Offerman to Star in Industry Reading of Confederacy of Dunces; Lea DeLaria, Kate Rockwell Also Cast Producers Bob Guza and John Hardy of Shelton Street will present an industry-only reading of A Confederacy of Dunces, based on the best-selling and Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name by John Kennedy Toole, April 28 at Pearl Studios in New York City.

Adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher, the reading of A Confederacy of Dunces — which plans for a future life on Broadway — will star Nick Offerman as Ignatius J. Reilly with Danielle Skaarstad, Will Jackson Harper, Marylouise Burke, Lea DeLaria, Kate Rockwell and David Turner.

David Esbjornson will direct, and additional casting will be announced at a later date.

A Confederacy of Dunces, written by Toole and published posthumously by LSU Press in 1980, "tells the story of Ignatius J. Reilly, his exploits, misadventures and all-around insultingly brilliant behavior in 1960's New Orleans," according to press notes.
