Taking a turn and veering from their traditional straight plays, the Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey is running a musical revue, Dance With Me Dec. 1-17 at their Madison locale. The 15 year-old theatre known for their commitment play development has only had one other musical production in its history.
Dance With Me was conceived by Elisabeth Lewis Corley and artistic director Joseph Megel. The show features some of the memorable songs of John and Johanna Hall including "Still the One," the hit for Janis Joplin "Half Moon," and the title "Dance With Me." Also featured are some of their more recent works with singer Jonell Mosser.
The cast includes Kathy Deitch, E. Alyssa Claar, Connie Pachl, VonQwest [sic], and Tom Stuart. Megel also handles directing for the production. Vocal and musical arrangements are provided by Margaret Dorn and Dennis Deal, who also choreographs.
