News Norwegian Staging of Ibsen's Peer Gynt with Cast of 150 Plays Delacorte Oct. 5-7 Lake Gålå's production of Peer Gynt heads to New York City's Delacorte Theater for a special three-performance concert version of the Henrik Ibsen classic, performing for the first time outside of Norway.

Svein Sturla Hungnes directs a cast of more than 150 in the production, which plays at the Central Park stage Oct. 5-7. All performances are at 7:30 PM.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Ibsen's death, this epic staging — staged annually at Norway's Peer Gynt Festival on Lake Gålå — will be performed in English. The Edvard Grieg score will be performed by the American Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Timothy Myers, and the production also features the Peer Gynt Chamber Choir led by Nina Moen.

The cast of the Ibsen work includes Svein Sturla Hungnes (as Peer Gynt), Kari Simonsen, Linda Øvrebø, Mari Maurstad, Stein Grønli, Rune Reksten, Karoline Kruger and Camilla Granlien.

Musical arrangements are by Atle Halstensen, and film direction is by Arne Rostad.
