News NYC Fringe's Reconstruction Looks at Marital Troubles, Aug. 13-29 Noted Off-Broadway director Jamie Richards will stage Clifford Lee Johnson III's new play Reconstruction Aug. 13-29 as part of the 2004 New York International Fringe Festival.

The Moving Target production will play at the Schaeberle Studio Theatre at Pace University, 41 Park Row, 12th Floor.

The play concerns husband and wife Ford and Ally, whose love is tested when Ally is diagnosed with breast cancer. After a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation, the couple are emotionally shaken—particularly in the bedroom. Determined to reclaim their former sex life, they stock up on iced champagne and Egyptian love oil. In the process, their bare themselves not only physically, but psychologically.

The staging will feature nudity and frank sexual situations.

Richards' work has most often been seen at Ensemble Studio Theatre, where she has directed many premieres, including District of Columbia, Of Two Minds and Reunions. At Playwrights Horizons, she directed Billy Aronson's Light Years, and, at American Place Theatre,Stonewall Jackson's House.
