As part of a week long "Salute to Broadway", NYC's Channel 13 will present two rare interviews with Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon from the old Dick Cavett Show. The two interviews, not seen on television for over fifteen years, will air on Channel 13 on June 3. The Bob Fosse interview, airing 9:30-10:30 PM, took place when Fosse was doing the press rounds for his film "All That Jazz." The two discuss acting, actors, Fosse's directing techniques, and the women in his life. Fosse directed and choreographed Redhead, Sweet Charity, Pippin, and Chicago on Broadway.
The Gwen Verdon interview airs immediately afterward from 10:30 - 11:30 PM. Cavett discusses with Verdon her thoughts on dance, and the evolution of the Broadway musical. Verdon, who at the time was married to Fosse, performs excerpts from classic choreographers: Jack Cole, Michael Kidd, Agnes deMille, Fosse, and Jerome Robbins.
