News NYC's Garden of Earthly Delights Will Wilt March 29 Martha Clarke's sensual Garden of Earthly Delights — featuring movement, music and aerial effects — will end its extended run at Off-Broadway's Minetta Lane Theatre on March 29, two months shy of the previously announced end date of May 31.

Based on the Hieronymus Bosch painting, Garden of Earthly Delights was originally scheduled to close March 1, but was extended to May to meet ticket demand. An international tour has been mentioned.

The 70-minute production brings to life Hieronymus Bosch's densely populated painting, depicting "the progression of sin from creation to hell, as well as a journey from innocence to chaos."

Garden began performances at the Minetta Lane Theatre Nov. 8, 2008, and officially opened Off-Broadway Nov. 19.

Conceived, directed and choreographed by Clarke, Garden of Earthly Delights features Todd Anderson, Sophie Bortolussi, Frances Chiaverini, Daniel Clifton, Elena Demyanenko, General McArthur Hambrick, Whitney V. Hunter, Gabby Malone, Matt Rivera, Jenny Sandler and Isadora Wolfe; with musicians Wayne Hankin (winds), Egil Rostad (cello) and Arthur Solari (music director, percussion). The original score is by Richard Peaslee, who received an Obie Award for Garden of Earthly Delights; set and lighting design are by Christopher Akerlind; costume design is by Jane Greenwood; flying is created by Flying by Foy.

The Minetta Lane Theatre is located at 18 Minetta Lane in Greenwich Village.
