Straight Jacket & Tie describes the dress stylings of the three regular guys at the heart of the Aaron Ginsburg and Wade McIntyre comedy, making its Off-Broadway debut April 4-27 with the Vital Theatre Company.
Stephen Sunderlin directs the play, which recently ran successfully in Los Angeles.
James wants a better job — and the better life that comes with it. Scott's up for a promotion at a company he finds soulless. Russell never leaves his easy chair. All three want to meet women, though, and maybe even form a meaningful relationship. Straight Jacket & Tie won the Dallas Critics Forum Award for best new play when it premiered there three years ago.
Ginsburg is a member of Dallas' avant-garde Kitchen Dog Theater with whom he received another Forum Award for directing Nobody Here But Us Chickens. McIntyre's plays include According to What and Hors D'Oeuvres.
Straight Jacket & Tie features Mayhill Fowler, Adam Groves, Norm Isaksson, Jeff Meacham and George L. Smith. Tickets are $15. The Vital Theatre Company is located at 432 West 42nd Street between Ninth and Tenth Avenues. For reservations, call (212) 592 0129.
