New York's adobe [sic] Theatre, which presented the satirical all American love story, Duet, a Romantic Fable last fall, is back with its latest offering, Meanwhile, on the Other Side of Mount Vesuvius. The comedy will open at the Ohio Theatre at 66 Wooster Street and play through April 24. Jay Reiss is the author of the irreverently-titled play, described as "a dark end of the millennium comedy set in the days of ancient Rome." Damon Kiely will direct, Kiely directed last year's hit - Handless Maiden for adobe.
After debuting to acclaim Off-Off-Broadway, Duet reopened in October 1998 at the Actor's Playhouse in Greenwich Village, but failed to find an audience and closed after two and a half months.
