The Worth Street Theatre Company kicks off its 1998-99 season with a new home and a four-show season, beginning with an evening of one-acts entitled, Snapshots '98 opening Sept. 24.

Worth Street Theatre's new home (not on Worth Street) , is the 75-seat Tribeca Playhouse located at 111 Reade Street in Manhattan.

Snapshots '98 comprises two one-act plays: Peter Hedges' Imagining Brad, described as a dark comedy about two women who become improbable friends, and Tom Disch's The Cardinal Detoxes. Disch's piece, described as a "dramatic poem," caused a stir in a 1990 censorship battle with the Catholic Church.

Tony nominated Steve Arlen brings his solo performance about England's King Henry the Eighth, entitled VIII to the Tribeca Playhouse, opening Oct. 22.

After achieving critical success with last years' The Seagull: The Hamptons: 1990's, director Jeff Cohen returns to the good doctor Chekhov with Uncle Vanya. Cohen transposes the Chekhov comedy/drama of unrequited love from late 19th Century Russia to the United States and the hills of West Virginia. The fourth show in Worth Street schedule has yet to be chosen, although it will run April/May of 1999.
