ERS last presented Gatz, its marathon take on F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby" at the Public Theater last fall and returns to New York with its latest literary investigation. The Select will officially open Sept. 11 for a run through Oct. 9.
John Collins directs the ensemble work that will offer the "tale of young expatriates living in early 20th century Europe in which journalist Jake Barnes, his former lover Lady Brett Ashley, and the writer Robert Cohn cope with post-war realities and enter the 'age of anxiety' following the end World War I," according to NYTW.
Designing The Select are David Zinn (set and costumes); Mark Barton (lighting); and Matt Tierney and Ben Williams (sound).
ERS previously debuted The Sound and the Fury at NYTW in 2008. The Select is the first production of NYTW's 2011-2012 season.
