News Off-Broadway Drama Loaded to Close Jan. 17 Elliot Ramón Potts' tense two-hander Loaded will shutter Off-Broadway Jan. 17, one week earlier than originally scheduled.

Michael Unger (The Happy Time, The Rink, A Christmas Carol) directed the production that began previews Nov. 7 and officially opened at the Lion Theatre Nov. 15. Performances were originally scheduled through Jan. 23.

Loaded stars Scott Kerns (Heart of the City) as Jude and Kevin Spirtas (The Boy from Oz, "Days of Our Lives") as Patrick.

The cast of Loaded also features Joel T. Bauer (The Boys Upstairs) as understudy for Jude with Rik Walter as the understudy for Patrick.

Loaded, according to press notes, "centers on Jude and Patrick, two men exploring whether or not their casual sexual relationship has the potential to be something more. When the generation that separates them sparks a series of misunderstandings and assumptions, their connection is strained and the conversation turns serious. Loaded taps into the climate of 21st century gay culture as it seeks to make sense of the bewildering chasm that separates middle-aged and younger gay men."

Loaded has set design by Adam Koch, costume design by Steven Schacht, lighting design by Herrick Goldman, with hair and make-up design by David Santana. Loaded was previously staged in a limited run at the LGBT Center in Manhattan in December 2008. Ramoncíto Productions, associate producers Tim Sutton and David Santana produce the engagement.

For tickets, priced $49, phone (212) 279-4200 or visit TicketCentral. The Lion Theatre is located at 410 West 42 Street in Manhattan.
