Effective Sept. 8, the percussion-based theatrical event will play Tuesdays-Saturdays at 8 PM, Saturdays and Sundays at 3 PM and again on Sundays at 7 PM. (The Saturday matinee replaces the previous late Saturday night show at 10:30 PM.)
The Off-Broadway run surpassed 5,000 performances at the downtown Manhattan venue Jan. 21 and reached its 12th anniversary Feb. 27. STOMP opened in New York City in 1994.
Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas created the wordless (and thus, universal) STOMP, the show about banging everything from Zippo lighters to brooms to plungers and hubcaps.
The show has spawned international tours and regional productions (currently performing in London's West End and on North American, European and Asian tours), an Academy Award-nominated short, the Emmy Award-winning HBO special "STOMP Out Loud," numerous television appearances as well as an IMAX film called "Pulse."
Just opened (March 24) in Las Vegas is a new production STOMP OUT LOUD that plays The Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino. Among the accolades STOMP has garnered are an Olivier Award, an Outer Critics Circle Award for Unique Theatrical Experience and an Obie Award.
Tickets to Stomp at New York's Orpheum Theatre, 126 Second Avenue (between 7th and 8th Streets), are available by calling (212) 307-4100. For more information visit stomponline.com.
