The New York Musical Theatre Festival production of Oklahomo: The Adventures of Dave and Gary begins its sold-out run Oct. 14 at Urban Stages.

The new rock musical comedy satire, according to the creators, chronicles "the journey of Dave and Gary, two Midwestern mall food court employees who are also partners in love (and eventually justice). Dave’s life-long dreams of becoming a superhero finally come true after a freak accident involving Superman, an overdose of hallucinogenic drugs, a port-a-potty and a Journey concert. From there, Dave and Gary embark on an epic adventure of revenge and love, of discrimination and acceptance, and ultimately the most magnificent superpower ever created."

Performances are scheduled for Oct. 14 at 10:30 PM, Oct. 15 at 11 PM and Oct. 16 at 10:30 PM.

Urban Stages is located at 259 West 30th Street (between 7th and 8th Avenues). Tickets, priced $20, may be purchased online at nymf.org or in person at Urban Stages box office.
