News Oregon Shakespeare Festival Goes Into the Woods June 4 Javier Muñoz, Rachael Warren, Jennie Greenberry and Howie Seago lead the cast of the the Oregon Shakespeare Festival production of James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods, which begins performances June 4 in Ashland, OR.

Featuring direction and musical direction by Amanda Denhart, the OSF production of Into the Woods features a 33-member orchestra. Performances continue in repertory through Oct. 11. The musical has a book by Lapine and a score by Sondheim. Orchestrations are by Jonathan Tunick.

Muñoz, who was seen on Broadway as Usnavi in the Tony-winning musical In the Heights, portrays the Baker, with Warren as the Baker's Wife, Greenberry as Cinderella, Sweago as the Wolf, Miles Fletcher as Jack, Jeremy Peter Johnson as Cinderella's Prince/The Wolf's Voice, John Tufts as Rapunzel's Prince, David Kelly as the Steward, Anthony Heald as Narrator/Mysterious Man, Robert Vincent Frank as Cinderella's Father, Kjerstine Rose Anderson as Little Red Riding Hood, Royer Bockus as Rapunzel, Miriam A. Laube as the Witch, Robin Goodrin Nordli as Jack's Mother, Katie Bradley as Florinda/Sleeping Beauty, Catherine E. Coulson as Cinderella's Stepmother and Christiana Clark as Lucinda/Snow White.

Into the Woods has scenic design by Rachel Hauck, costume design by Linda Roethke, lighting design by Jane Cox and sound design by Josh Horvath. 

The fairytale musical premiered on Broadway Nov. 5, 1987, at the Martin Beck Theatre. The production, which ran for 764 performances, won Tony Awards for Best Score, Best Book and Best Actress in a Musical.
