Orlou, the performance group whose show Tilt played to strong response at the Club space in New York's La MaMa theatre in 1995, returns there through Oct. 28, 1996 with Fuze.

Offering a stylized, surreal circus world, Fuze will feature Jodi Lennon, Josh Blaker, Jordan Roetelle, Amanda Topaz, Richard Bach, Christine Knight and Ned Malouf (the latter two are former dancers in the Elizabeth Streb Ringside troupe). Gary Chiappa will play Boufoon, "a unique interpretation of the French clown technique." He'll take the audience on a maze of visual episodes, dynamic acrobatic routines and feats of skill -- including trapese and bungee elastics. Christine Knight choreographs the production, which will also feature video projections and music (by Steve Schneider).

To accommodate Orlou's Fuze, La MaMa's Club will have new seating and upper and lower platforms to split the audience. The set and production design is by Brad Stokes.

Caryl Glaab and Gary Chiappa started Orlou in 1992, and their first show, Orlou Bus (1993), was termed "a cross between a Hallmark store and an Indian restaurant on wheels." The troupe then performed in Fohr You at Basel, Switzerland. This production was created as part of La MaMa's artists residency program.
