Oscar winner Dianne Wiest stars in Yale Repertory Theatre's production of Samuel Beckett's Happy Days, which officially opens May 5 at 8 PM following previews that began April 29.

Directed by James Bundy, performances continue through May 21 at Yale Repertory Theatre in Connecticut.

Wiest, who plays Winnie, is joined by Jarlath Conroy as Willie.

The two-hander is described as such: “With her husband increasingly out of reach and the earth itself threatening to swallow her whole, Winnie’s buoyant optimism shields her from the harsh glare of the inevitable in this absurdly funny and boundlessly compassionate portrait of the human spirit.”

The production includes scenic design by Izmir Ickbal, costumes by Alexae Visel, lighting by Stephen Strawbridge, sound design by Kate Marvin, movement coaching by Jessica Wolf, dramaturgy by Catherine Sheehy and Nahuel Telleria and stage management by Kelly Montgomery.

Tickets range from $20–99 and are available online at yalerep.org, by phone at (203) 432-1234 and in person at the Yale Rep Box Office (1120 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT).
