News Oscars to Feature Performances from Shirley Bassey, Barbra Streisand; Appearances from Daniel Radcliffe, Meryl Streep and More Dame Shirley Bassey will make a special appearance on the upcoming Academy Awards, show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced Feb. 8.

"We are thrilled to welcome the legendary Dame Shirley Bassey to our Oscar show," said Zadan and Meron in a statement. "Her association with film music is world renowned and we are proud that she will be making her first Oscar appearance on our telecast."

Bassey has recorded over 44 albums, sold over 135 million records and has sold out concert halls around the world. In the United States, Bassey is best known for recording the theme songs for the James Bond films “Goldfinger,” “Diamonds Are Forever” and “Moonraker.”

Bassey joins previously announced Oscar performers Adele, Norah Jones and Barbra Streisand; presenters Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo; returning 2011 Oscar winners Jean Dujardin, Christopher Plummer, Octavia Spencer and Meryl Streep; co-stars Mark Wahlberg and Ted; with special guest appearances by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Daniel Radcliffe, Channing Tatum and Charlize Theron.

As previously reported, the evening will also include a special celebration of movie musicals from the last decade, highlighting "Chicago," "Dreamgirls" and "Les Miserables."

Oscars for outstanding film achievements of 2012 will be presented Feb. 24 at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center, and will be hosted by Seth MacFarlane live on the ABC Television Network.
