The American Living Room Series, the Off-Off-Broadway showcase of works in progress seen every summer at Soho's HERE, will house a high profile musical workshop production July 19-20. The project is Norman Noll and Itamar Moses' The Chromium Hook and it will star Alison Fraser and Evan Pappas. Michelle Tattenbaum will direct.

Fraser has been twice nominated for a Tony Award, for Romance/Romance and The Secret Garden. Evan Pappas has starred at Lincoln Center Theater in both My Favorite Year and Parade. Also in the cast are Ron McCleary, Gayton Scott, Clark Webb, Todd Alan Crain, Joe Farrell, Terry Kelsey and Anika Larsen.

Hook, based on a short story by Ron Carlson, is described as "the sordid saga of a small town where nothing is what it seems when a boy, a girl, a car, and an escaped maniac with a hook add up to media frenzy.  The show combines satirical social commentary and humor, providing a sophisticated parody of television journalism's current obsession with scandal. "

The workshop is co-sponsored by Lincoln Center Theatre.

Tickets are $12.00. HERE is located at 145 6th Avenue at Spring Street. For reservations call (212) 647-0202.  —By Robert Simonson
