From now through 4 January 1998, Spain's theatregoers have an opportunity to enjoy beasts, rogues, maidens, bloodthirsty vampires and frightened soldiers, once again at the Maria Guerrero Theatre in Madrid.

The revival of "Pelo de Tormenta" describes a Madrid full of darkness due to the fight between wealth and poverty. It is tangled in music, dance, light and lusty games. Due to its risky content, playwright Francisco Nieva never thought the play would be performable on a stage. The production had an extremely successful premiere on the same stage last season.

Cast members include Pilar Bardem, Carmen Conesa, Francisco Maestre, Rafael Esteban, Alfonso Vallejo. Music is by Manuel Balboa and lyrics are by Francisco Nieva.

After its run in Madrid, the play will tour several other Spanish cities: Oviedo, Santander, Malaga and Barcelona.

Visitors will be able to enjoy an exhibit in the theatre's hall, displaying the history of the play's stage-designing process: costumes, photographs, stage implementation. "Pelo de Tormenta" runs Tuesday to Saturday at 8 PM Sunday at 7 PM at the Maria Guerrero Theatre, 4th Tamayo y Baus Street Madrid. For tickets call: 34 1 3194769
