In the new play, the two will play the parents of Caitlin, a high school senior who takes a year off to compose a full-scale requiem. Here's how the new work is billed: "Inspired by her dedication, her father, Dean (Friedman), becomes obsessed with requiems and the people who love them, while her mother, Allison (Winningham), becomes concerned about Caitlin’s isolation from everyone aside from her music teacher. As their once-cozy Vermont home becomes a nexus for lost souls, Dean and Allison must confront the fact that their daughter’s project is destroying their family."
Her Requiem will begin previews Feb. 6 with an opening night set for Feb. 22. Performances are set to run through March 20 at the Claire Tow Theater.
The full cast includes Keilly McQuail, Naian Gonzalez Norvind, Robbie Collier Sublett and Joyce Van Patten.
The Claire Tow Theater is located at 150 West 65th St., Manhattan. Visit lct.org for more information.
