Andrew Lloyd Webber's international hit musical, The Phantom of the Opera , will remain at one of its longtime haunts, San Francisco's Curran Theatre, until Jan. 3. The production had earlier announced that it would close Dec. 13, one day after the production's fifth anniversary.

The show will have played over 2,100 performances at the Curran, making it the longest-running musical in Frisco history, according to the production's press rep, Shannon Raffetto.

Phantom opened at the Curran on Dec. 12, 1993. The show has since packed in over 3 million people and grossed $150 million.

The Bay Area cast features Franc D'Ambrosio as The Phantom, Lisa Vroman as Christine and Christopher Carl as Raoul.
