Classic Arts News Philharmonia Virtuosi Cancels 2004-05 Season The chamber orchestra Philharmonia Virtuosi has canceled its 2004-05 season because of the illness of its conductor, Richard Kapp, the company has announced.
The company did not give specifics about Kapp's health.

The only concert that will take place as scheduled this season is the group's annual performance of the complete Bach Brandenburg concertos, to be held Sunday, December 12, at the performing arts center at Purchase College.

The orchestra, based in North Salem, New York, was founded by Kapp in 1974. According to the group's web site, the orchestra has served as a resident chamber orchestra at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for nearly 13 years. The 2004-05 season was to have included two performances at the museum.
