The principal cast includes David Elder (recently of WST's Windy City) returning to the role of Billy after playing it for four years in the Broadway revival; Susan Cella as fading diva Dorothy Brock; and Cara Cooper (The Wedding Singer) as newbie hoofer Peggy Sawyer, who has to step in for the ailing star of a new Broadway show.

Based on the old Warner Bros. picture (and a novel before it), 42nd Street (1980) has a standard-filled score by Harry Warren and Al Dubin, and libretto by Michael Stewart and Mark Bramble.
Longtime Walnut favorite Charles Abbott directs. Mary Jane Houdina choreographs the tap-happy show. Douglass G. Lutz is musical director.
