Set in 1930 pre-war Berlin Cabaret is the story of "a naive American novelist, Clifford Bradshaw, who arrives looking for inspiration for his next book. He finds his unlikely muse in a free-spirited English singer, Sally Bowles, who performs in a seedy nightclub. But their relationship is soon threatened by Germany's changing political climate." The classic score boasts such songs as "Wilkkommen," "Maybe This Time," "So What," "Don't Tell Mama," "I Don't Care Much" and the title song.
A co-production with Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre and St. Paul, MN's Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, this Cabaret will later play Seattle March 25-April 13 and St. Paul May 1-18. Tickets for the San Jose run are available by calling (888) 455-SHOW (7469) or by visiting www.amtsj.org.
