The award, which is bestowed upon an individual annually, is given by the York Theatre Company at their yearly Gala Benefit. Channing is a veteran of thirteen Broadway productions, a two-time Tony winner, and a recipient of the Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement. This year's ceremony was held at Citigroup Executive Auditorium, located at 399 Park Avenue in New York City. Joining Channing to celebrate were husband Harry Kullijan and Arlene Dahl, among others.
