McKechnie was joined by her A Chorus Line co-star Priscilla Lopez, Bebe Neuwirth, Tony Roberts and more. Priscilla Lopez performed in honor of McKechnie as did Harvey Evans and Pamela Myers. Of course, McKechnie herself performed as well. McKechnie's "Time Steps: My Musical Comedy Life," which she co-wrote with Greg Lawrence, is in stores now from Simon & Schuster. On Sept. 12 the Tony-winning actress will appear at The Drama Book Shop at 6 PM, and she will also be on hand to autograph copies of her new tome Oct. 6 at 7 PM at the Barnes & Noble Lincoln Triangle.
McKechnie dedicates her book, which candidly chronicles her life in and out of show business as well as her victorious battle with arthritis, to her sister Barbara, her brother Ron and to the memory of her parents, Carolyn Ruth and Donald Bruce McKechnie. Chapter titles for include "A Make-Believe Childhood," "How to Succeed as a Teenage Gypsy," "Promises, Promises," "Company," "A Chorus Line," "A Choreographed Marriage and Other Singular Sensations," "Masochist's Lament," "Sweet Charity," "Inside the Music" and "My Musical Comedy Life."
