Some of the stars who light up Broadway's stages on a nightly basis gave a boost to New York City's Christmas spirit on Dec. 8 as they helped to light the Broadway Christmas Tree at Duffy Square.

The lighting of the tree is a yearly celebration of the holiday season attended by many of Broadway's current leading performers. On hand to throw the switch this year were Wonderful Town's Brooke Shields and Dame Edna Everage, while Carolee Carmello and Gregg Edelman entertained the crowd. Below, Mrs. Thistletwat, of Avenue Q fame, joins children from the Professional Performing Arts School onstage.
