With choreography by Passing Strange's Karole Armitage, this limited engagement of the iconic James Rado-Gerome Ragni-Galt MacDermot piece is part of the Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park summer season and will officially open August 7.
The production stars Tony-nominated actor Jonathan Groff (Spring Awakening, In My Life) as the long-haired Vietnam draftee Claude, with Will Swenson (110 in the Shade) as his best friend Berger, Patina Renea Miller (Pam on "All My Children") as Dionne and Caren Lyn Manuel (Rent, Brookyln) as Sheila.
Also featured in the large ensemble "tribe" are Ato Blankson-Wood, Steel Burkhardt, Jackie Burns (White Boys Trio), Allison Case (Crissy), Lauren Elder, Allison Guinn, Anthony Hollock, Kaitlin Kiyan, Andrew Kober (Father/Margaret Mead), Megan Lawrence (Mother), Nicole Lewis (White Boys Trio), John M. Moauro, Darius Nichols (Hud), Brandon Pearson, Megan Reinking (Black Boys Trio), Paris Remillard, Bryce Ryness (Woof), Saycon Sengbloh (White Boys Trio), Maya Sharpe, Kacie Sheik (Jeanie), Theo Stockman and Tommar Wilson.
Hair performs Tuesday-Sunday at 8 PM. Tickets are free and are available on the day of the performance (two per person) at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park beginning at 1 PM, or by entering the Public's online ticketing lottery at www.publictheater.org.
