News PHOTO CALL: Inked Baby, with LaChanze, Opens Off-Broadway LaChanze and the cast of Christina Anderson's Inked Baby celebrated the world premiere's opening night Off-Broadway at Playwrights Horizons March 23.

Kate Whoriskey directs the production, which plays the Peter Jay Sharp Theater. The cast and their friends enjoyed a post-show party at New York City's West Bank Cafe. Joining LaChanze in the cast are Che Ayende, Michael Genet, Damon Gupton, Nikkole Salter, Angela Lewis and Nana Mensah.

Inked Baby centers on a woman who is "stuck for money and unable to conceive," according to show notes. "Gloria (LaChanze) enlists the aid of her sister (Lewis) to make the child that she and her husband (Gupton) can't. As they uneasily await the baby's arrival, a mysterious contamination spreads outside. But consumed by their own struggles, is anyone paying attention?"
