Nick Payne's Constellations, a love story about a beekeeper and a physicist that features Academy Award nominee Jake Gyllenhaal and two-time Olivier Award winner Ruth Wilson, began performances on Broadway Dec. 16.

Presented by Manhattan Theatre Club, Constellations will officially open Jan. 13, 2015, at MTC’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. Michael Longhurst directs.

Here's how the production is billed: "This mind-bending, romantic journey begins with a simple encounter between a man and a woman. But what happens next defies the boundaries of the world we think we know – delving into the infinite possibilities of their relationship and raising questions about the difference between choice and destiny."
