Attending Aida's opening were soap opera star (and former Annie of Annie Get Your Gun) Susan Lucci and Broadway player B.D. Wong (You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, M. Butterfly). With music by pop star Elton John and lyrics from Tim Rice, Disney's Aida, the tragic tale of love between Nubian slave and an Egyptian warrior betrothed to another, opened March 23 at the Palace Theatre. Headley stars as the doomed slave girl with Pascal as her lover. Scott plays Pascal's fiancee, an Egyptian princess.
