News PHOTO CALL: Off-Broadway Gives Birth to an Inked Baby LaChanze heads the cast of Christina Anderson's Inked Baby, which is currently making its world premiere Off-Broadway at Playwrights Horizons.

Kate Whoriskey stages the new play at the company's Peter Jay Sharp Theater. Joining LaChanze in the cast are Che Ayende, Michael Genet, Damon Gupton, Nikkole Salter, Angela Lewis and Nana Mensah.

Inked Baby centers on a woman who is "stuck for money and unable to conceive," according to show notes. "Gloria (LaChanze) enlists the aid of her sister (Lewis) to make the child that she and her husband (Gupton) can't. As they uneasily await the baby's arrival, a mysterious contamination spreads outside. But consumed by their own struggles, is anyone paying attention?"
