News   PHOTO CALL: Once and Peter and the Starcatcher Casts Celebrate New York Theatre Workshop Cast members from Once and Peter and the Starcatcher came together at Sardi's the evening of April 24 to celebrate New York Theatre Workshop.

Both shows received acclaimed 2011 stagings at the downtown venue prior to their Broadway transfers.

Once borrows the 2007 movie's songs by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, who also played the would-be lovers in the film. The stage experience offers two additional numbers — "Abandoned in Bandon" and the Czech folk song "Ej Pada Pada Rosicka."

A company of 13 actor-musicians performs all roles and serves as the on-stage orchestra in the fable about a stuck troubadour fearful about moving forward.

Once has a book by Irish playwright Enda Walsh (Penelope), direction by John Tiffany (Black Watch), movement by Steven Hoggett (American Idiot, Black Watch) and set and costume design by Tony Award winner Bob Crowley (The Coast of Utopia, Mary Poppins).

Tickets for the Broadway production are on sale via Telecharge.com or by phone at (212) 239-6200.

The origins of Peter Pan, his nemesis Captain Hook and the enchanted island of Neverland come to life in Peter and the Starcatcher, the wildly imaginative stage production helmed by Roger Rees and Alex Timbers.

A feat of theatrical storytelling, language and stagecraft, Peter and the Starcatcher is based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. Tony Award winner Rick Elice (Jersey Boys, The Addams Family) authored the stage adaptation that uses 12 actors to recount the tale of adventure.
