The original Broadway production of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II's South Pacific opened on Broadway on April 7, 1949. In honor of its 60th anniversary, original cast members attended the April 1 matinee performance of Lincoln Center Theater's revival of the musical.
Attendees included members of South Pacific's original Broadway cast, its first national tour, and Rodgers and Hammerstein's daughters, Mary Rodgers and Alice Hammerstein.
