Tom Stoppard's The Coast of Utopia was named Outstanding Play, while Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater's Spring Awakening was named Outstanding Musical. The John Doyle-directed Company was named Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and Journey's End, directed by David Grindley, was named Outstanding Revival of a Play. Top acting honors went to Frank Langella and Eve Best as, respectively, Outstanding Actor and Actress in a Play; Raúl Esparza for Outstanding Actor in a Musical; and Donna Murphy and Audra McDonald, who tied for Outstanding Actress in a Musical.
