News PHOTO CALL: The Scottsboro Boys Opens on Broadway The Scottsboro Boys, the new Kander & Ebb musical that takes the racially insensitive "minstrel show" and reimagines it to tell the true story of a case of racial injustice, opened at Broadway's Lyceum Theatre on Oct. 31.

According to producers, the musical by Fred Ebb, John Kander and David Thompson is "based on the notorious 'Scottsboro' case in the 1930s (in which nine African-American men were unjustly accused of a terrible crime). ...This daring and wildly entertaining musical explores a fascinating chapter in American history with brilliant originality."

The cast of The Scottsboro Boys features John Cullum, Joshua Henry, Josh Breckenridge, Derrick Cobey, E. Clayton Cornelious, Colman Domingo, Jeremy Gumbs, Rodney Hicks, Kendrick Jones, James T. Lane, Forrest McClendon, Julius Thomas III, Sharon Washington, Christian Dante White, Cherene Snow, Clinton Roane, and JC Montgomery.
